The Governors of Thatto Heath Primary School are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to provide a specialist service to assist the school in meeting their obligation and targets in relation to school attendance, investigating persistent absences and improving punctuality. They will monitor all pupils’ attendance daily and contact the parents/carers of any student who is not in school whose absence is unexplained. They will identify and investigate patterns of absence and initiate interventions, liaising with staff in school and a variety of external agencies to improve the attendance of particular pupils as necessary.
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, be proactive, organised, resilient and resolute about effecting improvement, but also to be able to be understanding and supportive. The hours of work are 32.5 hours plus 5 inset days. 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
