Job Description
We Are St Helens Borough Council

Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a transformational Council which is passionate and ambitious for the communities we support. We provide a wide range of local authority services to the residents, businesses, schools, and visitors to the borough. We can only do this because of our highly valued, highly skilled workforce.
Working together, our workplace vision and values guide our organisation, and the contribution of our workforce is key to our culture journey. Employees with us receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits, ways of working and learning and development support.

Making A Difference as a Senior Digital Communications Officer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Digital Communications Officer to join our fast-paced communications teams. The ideal candidate will bring new experience, skills and ideas into the team.

We are a small team delivering communications, marketing, PR and engagement for the council, but size doesn’t limit our ability to make St Helens a better place through great content, understanding our audiences and developing our channels.

We’ve got big plans for our borough over the next decade. We are committed to boosting economic growth, regenerating our town centres, tackling deprivation, reducing inequality and transforming our organisation.

Our ambitions include communications that both change behaviour, build community independence, attract new partners and investors to the borough and instil a sense of pride in local people.

The purpose of this role is to manage and develop the council’s digital communication channels including its website and microsites, video and social media platforms, and co-ordinate high quality content across these channels.

We are looking for a Digital Communications professional to help us develop and deliver on our digital strategies. We need someone who is both creative and technical, who can keep on top of new and innovative ways to engage digitally and has a knack for testing and trouble shooting.

This is a hybrid- working role.
