Job Description
Are you a life-long learner? A passionate, ambitious mentor? A driven leader?
The children of Sherdley Primary School are searching for their perfect headteacher, who:
- ‘Will believe in our potential to achieve great things’
- ‘Is energetic and has a sense of humour’
- ‘Is courageous and resilient’
- ‘Will make time to listen to our ideas about school life’
- ‘Is confident, caring and determined to do the job well'
The Sherdley Family believe that every school day should be an opportunity for aspiration, achievement and fun, fostered through the strong foundations of outstanding relationships between pupils, staff, parents and partners.
Building on our recent “good – with bells on!” Ofsted inspection, our top priority is to raise whole school attainment. Key to this progression will be the need to work tirelessly to ensure staff development is prioritised, meaningful and robustly directed.
You’ll be supported as you embed these things - through the warmth, proactivity and whole-hearted investment of the Sherdley Family – which we know the right candidate will continue to nourish.
We look forward to welcoming you to ‘this popular and friendly school’ (Ofsted, Jan 23).
Please see candidate pack for further welcome and information.
Closing date for applications will be 12.00pm on 17 April 2024.

Shortlisting will take place on 18 April 2024 with Tasks and Interviews being held on 24 and 25 April 2024.

School visits are welcomed. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
